Challenge for the reliable tomorrow
ABRI was established as a joint venture company of Tokyo Metropolitan University and The Furukawa Battery, and three years have passed in this April. During this time, we have received many gracious encouragements and guidance from our stakeholders, and our research and development system, which is our main business, was established and we were able to obtain business results simultaneously. Presently, we can create several patents, and announce the information through conference presentations and papers.
Currently, the expectations for secondary batteries are increasing more and more in order to improve the performance of electric vehicles (xEV) and to make effective use of energy. In order to meet this expectation and to develop as a future business permanently, it is necessary to develop batteries that have not only battery performance (energy density, cycle life, input / output power characteristics, operable temperature, etc.) but also safety and cost. In addition, in order for newly developed technologies to have higher product value as new technologies, it is necessary to further increase the feasibility of next-generation batteries that are expected to have dramatically higher performance at the research stage.
In accordance with the management philosophy of “Challenge for the reliable tomorrow”, we will create the great elemental technologies based on basic research and applied research on next-generation batteries. I would like to contribute to the realization of a society with convenient and safe in the future.
We are looking forward to your warm continued supports and guidance.
Hidetoshi Abe, Ph.D.
